Ms. Whitney came in with her big brother Houston along with 3 other siblings.  They are true rescues in the fact that had not a  kind hearted individual taken the time to become involved after seeing the puppies placed outside to fend for themselves and  request the puppies be released to a safer environment, there is no doubt their future was questionable, at the very least.  They are all as cute as "buttons"

Petey is quite a skit - When he first arrived, I guess because of his size, he tried to convince everyone he was "big" man on campus.  He quickly discovered there were some just a big bigger than he was but gosh, you can't blame a guy for trying.  Petey is a typical chi - truly just wants to forget he has 4 legs and would be much more content, if he was picked up and carried around.  He will make a wonderful companion for someone as I am quite sure he would love to grab all the attention.  He does hang out with others his size and does very well - so we will call "big man on campus" very outgoing. Ms. Sugar was just a little out of sorts when she arrived.  Clearly upset because her whole world had changed and who were all these strangers.  Sugar was an owner turn-in to a local county shelter.  You can see her starting to relax and enjoy the company of other dogs and humans.  You will need to provide her with some of your patience when she first arrives, giving her the time to settle in and she should do just fine.   She has a beautiful coat that will be a groomer's delight to work with.  May need a fairly strong owner that can stick to a schedule and provide redirection.

What a wonderful group of pups.  Boss lady is so impressed with all these fellows. They have wonderful temperments and quiet demeanors ( of course, there is always one in a crowd that has to be a little different - he is just a little more assertive) Scroll down to see a picture of Miles - Moon's big brother.  Two pups are favoring the Red-Bone Hound and two have the lighter coat.  One of Moon's sister's was adopted and had her first Obedience Class.  Understand she stood out from the crowed -  she was so attentive and willing to please.  These guys will make wonderful family pets.  Come take a peak - Will need for you to complete the Placement Form first and then we will give you a call.

Homer underwent eye surgery for a common eye condition and has had two visits with a local eye specialist. It has been determined that Homer is blind in the left eye and surgery is not recommended. His right eye is looking good but he also suffers from "Dry Eye" and will require daily medications. We are looking for experienced bulldog owners only for Homer that understands the future care that is needed for him plus he is one of the more stubborn fellows we have had on board for a long time. You do know? - Hounds make a great family pet. Thank you to the caring folks at the high volume facility for making that phone call to rescue. My sister Cindy just recently got adopted - I am so happy for her and to a wonderful family, no less. Rey is just a sweet boy.  Although we are disappointed that he has come up positive for heartworm, had we left him behind, his fate was pretty much decided.  Most shelters either lack the funds or unable to house the animal for the period of time necessary to get through the treatment.  We struggled to figure out what breed Rey is.  Although he does a thin coat of fur, in reviewing the breed,  he has a host of the other characteristics.  Wonderful temperment/good with other dogs - loves his people.

We are not seeing a lot of growth spirts in this group so it appears they may just remain on the small size however, we were able to confirm the parent's weight of between 10 - 15 lbs.  Wonderful group of pups and you are welcome to meet all of them - some are on the lighter side.  They are all at that learning curve right now and are just a hoot to sit down and watch.

Ms. Juliet came in with her mom, Sadie.  There is no problem with the two being separated.  You will find out if you do some research on the breed, that they are pretty much an independent personality.  Love their humans like most terriers - just not always happy with having to share their humans.  Juliet seems to share a little bit better than her mom. We do not recommend small children for either Juliet or her mom simply because of the breed.  If you are a Jack Russel fan, you will appreciate these two

Cloud is a beautiful representative of the breed.  He was adopted from a local shelter and the new owner discovered he was a lot of dog for his family to handle.  Here at the rescue, Cloud is responding to commands and walking like a gentleman on a leash. He is doing beautifully.   Typical of the breed, Cloud needed some guidance.  Wonderful/Calm disposition for his age.  He just wants to please.  We do ask that you research the breed on line if you are interested.  It is very important with this breed, like so many, that you establish the "alpha dog or "pack leader". Duke was picked up by a good samaritan wandering in a neighborhood. Apparently he had been there for a week or two with most folks just throwing objects at him to keep him out of their garbage.  Not sure what happened to making a phone call and getting him some help.  This boy knows he has got it good.  Hugs and kisses from Boss Lady every morning.  Duke is just what a family ordered - You truly can see how grateful he is and he will bless you each more morning with a big wet kiss.  Duke is on the road to recovery.  Besides our dear Maxwell, he is another fellow that never seems to have a bad day.  Most likely his condition was caused by his previous environment.

Tito is a bit of a nervous little fellow/he gets "spooked" He needs a nice quiet home with some one on one attention, he should do just fine. He will need understanding and patience. We have no information on his background and it breaks our heart to think what he might have went through to be so nervous and concerned about his surroundings. If you have the perfect place for Tito, get in contact with us - He deserves it.

Update:  Alright - so Tito is full of himself - he is the man/Tito has truly shown improvement in his temperment - now he is just a little "stinker" but you can't help but love him.  He still would do best in a nice quiet home.  He does well with other animals and should always remain socialized but we suspect he will certainly be graving that attention.

Well, just when we thought our dear Max was heading home.  We don't call him our "devil man" for nothing - It is with the greatest affection - He is your typical terrier - full of "peas and vinegar" he is but we have to admit, he is the smartest fellow we know and will learn his direction very quickly.  Max needs some assistance with potty training/basic training but appropriate supervision along with crate training is going to be the charm.  Max is probably the sweetest boy we know - he is so focused on pleasing humans, he will do very well - He just needs to find that special human that is going to love him for what he is - a terrier.

Cadbury was an owner turn-in and from what we have gathered thus far, his world was kept very small.  Our hearts just break for him.  Although he has bonded with the Boss Lady, he is very shy and easy intimidated by strangers.  Cadbury certainly deserves more and somewhere deep inside, he wants to be hugged and loved.  Cadbury will need a very special person that has experience with such issues - lots of patience, will be a virtue but we know the real Cadbury is just hidden inside.  He would probably due very well in fostering with an experienced person.  If you have some room in your heart to take in Cadbury and help him experience what he so deserves, please contact us.

Parker is a striking dog.  There certainly maybe some border collie in there somewhere.  He is a friendly dog and even tempered.  Due to his age, he is still very active in that his number one thing to do, is play.  Probably best for him to have a fenced in yard.  Parker has been crate-trained and that will need to be continued in a new home.  We think Parker can get so wrapped in playing, he forgets to do some of the important duties so there is no doubt he will do well with structure and appropriate redirection.  Good with other animals, Parker would make a great new addition to any family.

Miles is currently in fostering with the rest of his group.  Foster mom indicates these guys are the smartest group of pups she has seen in quite sometime.  They are 80-85% potty trained and working real hard at hitting 100%.  Miles adopted sister Sassy just attended her first Puppy Training Class and stood out as the best behaved and the most responsive.  This whole group will have no problem fitting into a new home comfortably.  Fill out that Placement Form if you are interested so you can get the pick of the litter.

Oliver is quite a character.  He truly suffers from the little man syndrome but I am sure, knowing his previous circumstances of being tied up outside - all day and all night, it was the only way he knew to protect himself.  Although he is crate-trained, he is what we call "Cage Aggressive" - He wants to protect his small space.  Outside of the cage, he will warm right up.  Enjoys being picked up and loved.  Oliver will need a very special mom and dad simply because we do not feel comfortable with him being placed with and exposed to small children under any circumstances.  I am sure if he felt threatened in anyway, he would resort back to his "little man syndrome" to protect himself.  He has certainly improved significantly during his stay with us however.  Suggest you do read up on the "Min Pin" breed itself as he is all that.

 Well - my dear fellow Ralph went home  - Foster family is going to miss him so very much - He is the poster child for rescued dogs - Can not understand how he ended up having to go into a high-kill facility.  He is the sweetest boy ever - Foster Mom indicates you could light a fire cracker beside him (not that you would) and he would not pudge.  Just an even tempered kind a' fellow.  Foster Dad George is missing you terribly but knows you have now made it home.

Samson does well with other animals but believe he will do best with medium to large dogs just because of his own size.  He has been a good boy since he has been on board with us.  Does have some leash training but will need to have basics continually reinforced as he is very attentive and a quick learner.  Samson would do best also in a fenced in yard as he does love to run and play - it would certainly be a more secure and safe environment for him.  Older children may also be best for him as he can certainly have moments of thinking he is a lap dog.

Rascal is a rather new resident of our facility but he has managed to fit in very well.  Again, here is another new little one that does very well on the crate-training issues and just obviously thrives with a routine.  He is a little bigger than most Yorkie's are so there certainly is most likely another mix there but you can certainly see that the predominant breed is in fact, Yorkie.    He is a nice, quiet little fellow and will most likely thrive in a home environment to include some hugs and kisses.  Come meet our Rascal boy today.

Austin is certainly all Chi - Has all the characteristics and mannerism.   He is still getting use to his new environment and has warmed up to Boss Lady very well - Most chi's have to often go through an adjustment period especially when their world has been turned upside down.  Austin will be starting his treatment soon and once that is started, he will be ready to go home in approx.  4 weeks.  Austin will do best in a home with no children.

Jac - What a sweet boy he is - very mindful/pays attention but still moderately active for a Jack Russell.  We would suggest NO Cats simply because of his breed.  Jac is a fairly new arrival but he has no qualms about hiding his personality - He is kind of a front and center guy.  He will make a wonderful companion for someone.  If you are a terrier fan, he is a must see.

Wondering where/how she got that name.  Satin has the most beautiful, silky, jet-blacked coat there ever was.  She has been blessed with the coat of a Whippet so it is much shorter than a lab/less shedding, if at all.   Satin has also been blessed with the lab temperment.  Does wonderful around other dogs and with cats as well. She is very striking in person.  For the person looking for a nice, medium size family pet, Satin would be perfect.  The only hang-up for dear Satin is that, left in a backyard, unattended she will dig her way out, looking for her humans.  I guess this would be considered, her type of separation anxiety.  She crates well and is very comfortable there so rather than placing her in the backyard when leaving, the crate would be the way to go.

Miss Junebug came into us with her puppies - all immediately went into fostering where they faired very well - Well - it is no Junebug's turn - All her puppies have been adopted and now it is her time to find that forever home.  She is a mix of beagle and doxie- As a small child, I grew up with a beagle/doxie X and have to say, she was just the best.  You just have to meet Junebug to appreciate her.  Fill out that application today.

Novak is quite a character - He will beat everyone to the gate, just to be the first greeter of the bunch.  He is active(has just got to be that terrier in him) but does not seem to have too many bad days.  Would suggest older children simply because we don't have a complete background on him but feel he would fit right in as a new family member.  Remember Terriers are smarter than the average bear - placing them on a schedule and providing appropriate correction, goes a long way with a terrier.

Ben Ling is a bit of a laid back little fellow. Nothing much seems to bother him.  He is rather full of his self and knows he is a "pretty boy".  He would do very well with some structure and a well thought out schedule because as you know, he is a Lhasa Apso.  His picture just does not show how unusual he is for the breed so the best thing is to submit that Placement Form and come a take a look yourself.

Percy was a little apprehensive when he arrived - Poor Boy - he was scared and just trying to figure this whole thing out - one minute, he is part of someone's family and the next, he is placed in a cold cage - all by himself- or sure, he was given food/water but he was lacking that one ingredient - Hugs and Kisses and just good old attention - Percy was fortunate to hook up with the best foster mom in the world - He will certainly tell you that now.  He has just florished in foster care - He is potty trained and does get along well with other dogs.  We think it best he be placed in a family unit with older children as he is sensitive to busy/busy but aren't we all?  He will make a very sweet boy for someone.  Come see our Percy soon.

Courage is one heck of a ball player - Do you have any ball players at your house? What a way to get some energy out.  Courage has a whole lot of Min-Pin in him/very active but dedicated to his humans.  Courage gets along with other dogs although we have not tested him with cats yet, that can certainly be accomplished.  We tease him often when he puts his ears down that he looks just like a "good old hound dog" - boy, you should see those ears pick up quick.  He is proud to be a Min-Pin - Come see him today.

Stella has hit her one year birthday.  She is fully Vaccinated and Spayed.  Her approx. adult weight is 35-40 lbs.  She would do best with an experienced dog owner.

Stella has been on board with us for a little while.  It seems the "fluffy" petite little guys out do her everytime.  We think Stella will do best in a quiet, low-key environment with older children as she is stil learning the ropes.  It takes time and patience to allow a new companion to fit into a new home.  Stella is one of those dogs that just needs that extra time.  She will respond well to gentle correction and praise.  If you believe you can give Stella that special home, please fill out that application.  We would love the opportunity to talk with you further and see if Stella would be a good fit.

Casey is another one of our hounds that is hitting her year birthday.  We call her the shy girl.  She is Vaccinated and will be spayed before she goes home.  She is the smaller of the group with an adult weight of 40-42 lbs.

Ms. Casey will need some time and patience to adjust to a new home but we believe an experienced dog owner will do very well with her.  Often dogs with Casey's temperment and personality need a little longer to adjust but we believe she will make a wonderful companion.  Older children may best for her so that her adjustment period goes smoothly.  Volunteers are working with her to assist her with some basic training
